AI maturity, measured where it matters: your people
"AI maturity" usually means one thing: is the organization ready — its tech, data, and processes? That's worth knowing. But it skips the part that actually decides outcomes — whether your people handle AI well.
What makes this Framework different
Most frameworks score the company, estimated by a leadership survey. 2gnoMe measures the people, directly — by what they would actually do.
How the major frameworks compare
Nearly all established "AI maturity" models assess the organization's capacity to adopt and deploy AI, as a staged ladder rated by leaders or consultants. 2gnoMe is built around people's demonstrated capability — and connects it upward to the organization.
| Framework | Primary focus | Structure | Assessed by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gartner AI Maturity Model | Organization — AI adoption & business impact | 5 levels: Foundational → Emerging → Operational → Scaled → Transformational1 | Leadership self-assessment |
| IDC AI MaturityScape | Organization — AI capability & culture | 5 stages: ad hoc → AI woven into culture2 | Benchmark survey |
| Microsoft (AI Readiness / Responsible AI) | Organization — readiness & responsible practice | 5 stages: Exploring → Realizing; Latent → Leading3 | Self-assessment |
| Google Cloud AI Adoption Framework | Organization — People, Process, Tech, Data | 3 phases: Tactical → Strategic → Transformational4 | Self-assessment |
| Deloitte AI maturity | Organization — adoption across 6 dimensions | 4 levels: automation → organizational redesign5 | Consultant diagnostic |
| Workforce AI-literacy tools | Individual — employee AI skill | Self-reported tiers: novice / intermediate / advanced6 | Self-report & usage analytics |
| 2gnoMe AI Maturity | Individual → Organization — demonstrated human capability | 5 domains · 24 components · situational judgment + self-perception, with the measured-vs-perceived gap | The person (situational responses), rolled up to the org |
Framework structures above are summarized from each provider's published description (see sources). 2gnoMe's individual instrument is grounded in the OECD/EC and UNESCO AI-competency work and the EU AI Act Article 4 literacy duty.
Where 2gnoMe sits in the landscape
The org-level concept is well established — and that's useful: 2gnoMe's organizational rubric is a familiar 5-stage ladder, so it reads credibly next to Gartner, IDC, and Deloitte. The difference is what feeds it: the five human-capability domains and aggregated individual results, rather than a leadership opinion survey.
The people-level, demonstrated-capability part is rare. The few tools that assess individuals tend to rely on self-reported skill tiers or usage analytics6. Measuring what a person would do in real situations — and surfacing the gap between that and how they rate themselves — is the part of this market that is largely unoccupied, and it is the core of 2gnoMe.
