Thank you for your interest in our project.

The purpose of this study is to examine people’s perceptions and behaviors in difficult situations in the workplace. This study takes place in several sections. In one section we will ask you to respond to a questionnaire that asks you about your general view of yourself. In another section we ask you to imagine a conflict, disagreement, or other difficult interpersonal situation that you have experienced in the past, and answer several questions as to what you did in that situation. In a final section, we will gather information from another person that you are familiar with, regarding their views of you.

Participation in this study is voluntary. You may decline to answer any questions that you do not wish to answer by leaving them blank, or may withdraw from participation.  If you choose to withdraw from participation proceed to the end of the survey and follow the instructions. There are no known or anticipated risks to participation.

It is important for you to know that any information that you provide is anonymous and will be kept confidential. All of the data will be summarized and no individual could be identified from these summarized results.

The data collected from this survey will be maintained on 2gnōME cloud infrastructure (see 2gnōME Privacy Policy) and also on a secure server in restricted access area of the University of Waterloo. No one other than the researchers will have access to the University of Waterloo data.

Should you have any questions about the survey, please contact either Justin Brienza (jbrienza@uwaterloo.ca) or Dr. Igor Grossmann (igrossma@uwaterloo.ca). Further, if you would like to receive a copy of the results of this survey, please contact either investigator.
